Budapest’s City Park offers plenty of reasons to visit it – the Zoo; the Széchenyi Baths; the Vajdahunyad Castle with the amazing Museum of Agriculture inside; the House of Music; the Museum of Ethnography; and the Museum of Fine Arts (with my favorites), for example. Until recently, local food offerings were disappointingly absent but this is the case no more! Ligeti Lángos, for example, serves feather-light lángos, both with traditional toppings and new-wave ingredients, savory and sweet. If chimney cakes are more your speed, dart across the street to Édes Mackó instead.
To remain unbiased, I visit all places incognito and pay for my own meals and drinks. I rely in large part on readers to support my work. I'm grateful if you make a one-time payment (PayPal, Venmo, Revolut) or subscribe to my weekly newsletter in which I write about Budapest and Vienna.
