Szerkesztőség

Good things are happening in and around Margit körút on the Buda side, across the Margaret Bridge. Thanks to a systematic urban renewal aimed at reducing car traffic and attracting pedestrians, streets are once more becoming lively and lined with small businesses. An exemplary case is Szerkesztőség, which combines a light-filled cafe, a bookstore, and an art gallery. The reason that artworks are far better than standard coffeehouse art: Szerkesztőség, which translates to "editorial board," is run by the writers of Új Művészet, a leading Budapest art history journal. Closed on the weekend!

To remain unbiased, I visit all places incognito and pay for my own meals and drinks. I rely in large part on readers to support my work. I'm grateful if you make a one-time payment (PayPal, Venmo, Revolut) or subscribe to my weekly newsletter in which I write about Budapest and Vienna.
