Simon's Burger

A strange and cringeworthy America-worship imbues every aspect of Simon’s Burger, a rapidly growing burger chain in Budapest and greater Hungary. The menu, for example, is available only in English and the founder's manifesto is emblazoned in all-caps on the wall: “According to Simon, there’s just one hamburger, what he ate in America.”

I usually pretend that I didn't see any of that, because Simon's burgers are really amazing, surely among the best in Europe. A juicy and crunchy smashed patty enclosed by a soft and squishy bun. Simple and delicious. Smashy, the wildly popular burger joint a few blocks away (also with a New York City location) is a sister restaurant of Simon. The quality across the two brands is comparable; here you won't have to wait thirty minutes in line.
