Trapéz is a hidden college bar that students and recent graduates of the nearby Corvinus University like to frequent. It's a small miracle that the tiny pre-war building that houses Trapéz and which is just a stone's throw away from major tourist destinations like the Great Market Hall hasn't yet become the victim of real estate developers. Let's hope it stays that way.
Once you enter, don't be fooled by the relative calm and quiet of the ground floor - it's in the attic upstairs where the lively action is. Although the bar food won't knock you off your feet, the burgers are decent and the prices reasonable (the local tap beer costs €2). Trapéz's eclectic interior features comfortable sofas, exposed wooden beams, and a densely carpeted wooden floor, and it feels perfectly homey. Adding to the camaraderie is a foosball table, simply because no college bar is complete without a foosball table.
